Frequently asked questions.

1. What kind of boats do you work on?
I work on a wide range of fibreglass and composite boats — from small runabouts to larger offshore hulls. If you’re unsure, just ask and I’ll let you know if it’s something I can take on.

2. Do you only work on boats?
No. While boats are a big part of what I do, I also take on all kinds of fibreglass projects. I’ve got extensive experience in mould making, pattern building, custom fabrication, and spray painting. If it’s fibreglass, I can most likely help.

3. Do you build new boats?
No. I focus on rebuilding and restoring older boats, not building new ones.

4. What type of repairs do you do?
Everything from structural repairs, transoms, stringers, and floors to general tidy-ups, refinishing, and layout changes. If it’s part of the boat, I can probably fix it.

5. Can I get a quote?
Yes. I can give a rough estimate based on photos, but for an accurate quote I usually need to see the boat or project in person.

6. How long does a rebuild or repair usually take?
It depends on the job. Smaller repairs might take a few days, while full rebuilds can take several weeks. I’ll always give you a realistic timeframe before starting.

7. Do you use quality materials?
Absolutely. I only use marine-grade resins, composites, and hardware so the repairs last and hold up in real conditions.

8. Can you customise the layout or design of my boat?
Yes. I can modify layouts, storage areas, floors, and other components to suit how you use your boat.

9. How do I book my project in?
Just reach out through the contact form, and we’ll organise a time to take a look and talk through what you need.

10. What should I do before bringing my boat or project in?
If you can, clear out personal items and gear. It makes inspection and work a lot easier.
